About
Cristina Caldis - Counsellor and Art Therapist
As a therapist my philosophy is that each person has their own deep wisdom and an innate capacity for healing. My process as a therapist is to help you tap into your own wisdom and unlock your own medicine. Each person is unique and each journey is personal. I provide traditional Counselling as well as Art Therapy. Art Therapy is a useful tool for expression. It allows us to express that which we sometimes struggle to express in words. I have a special interest in trauma counselling and Nature Based Trauma Therapy. I personally have found connection to nature and to the land to be a powerful source of healing and it has been an important anchor in my personal journey.
I draw on various other modalities in helping you build your own personal toolkit for healing including Internal Family Systems and Somatic Therapy.
Korinya comes from the Ukrainian word for tree roots. Part of my offering as a therapist is to help you find your roots and anchors to become more grounded. Your roots are what nourish you and sustain you and for each person that will look different. Growing deep roots is an important aspect of therapy and as such, many of my workshops and retreats are focussed on growing your roots to build your own capacity for resilience and strength to carry you throughout your life.

“Korinya - Ukrainian word meaning tree roots. Wild roots deeply grounded into the earth….never fearing drought, nor winds…..whatever storm may come….it remains…it finds ways to ground itself more deeply and stay nourished.”
